Rey de Reyes (King of Kings) is one of AAA's annual major events. It's the first major event of the year for AAA, usually held in March. The first Rey de Reyes was in 1997.

The show features the crowning of a Rey de Reyes champion, typically the winner of a 16 man tournament (though it's changed many times over the year.) In recent years, the winner of the Rey de Reyes tournament has earned a shot at the AAA World Heavyweight Championship at a major event, though not always right away.

Rey de Reyes is not the biggest AAA event, but usually sets the stage for feuds to peak later in the year.

For many years, AAA also held a female version of the event, Reina de Reinas, but has discontinued that show in recent years.
