The Occidente Lightweight Championship is one of the state championships of the Guadalajara box y lucha libre commission. It's controlled by the Guadalajara branch of CMLL and almost exclusively defended at Arena Coliseo Guadalajara.

This weight class championship appears to be defunct. There are no records of title matches since 1999.

Known Champions Listing

Only five luchadors are known to be lightweight champions.

Diablo Velasco is listed as holding this title among all of his other accolades.

Halcon 22 says La Gacela (Jalisco) (Alvaro Manuel Melendez Santibanez) defeated Felix Mosqueda in April of 1972 and was champion by the end of the year. Halcon 104 (June 1974) credits him with eight defense, including May 12 against Rodolf Ruiz in San Luis Potosi.

Akira is billed as defending this title versus Negro Vera on the October 12, 1999 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara show

Pluma Negra defeated Guerrerito Halcón for this championship on the June 6, 2006 show at Arena Proyeccion 2000, Tonalá, Jalisco.

In addition, a lightweight title match was announced for the October 27, 1985 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara show, but no participants were listed. [1].
