[[Image:Elgladiador.jpg|left|100px]][[El Gladiador]] was not the greatest of wrestlers and his huge rise to stardom was very discussed by the media because it was clear that he was pushed due to looks and charisma rather than actual ability. He was not a bad wrestler, though, but he was not on the work level of the biggest superstars in the industry. He'd come to the ring dressed in his full Gladiator attire, and he was given a big push so he defeated almost everybody in the company and kept an undefeated streak during some time. Well, in all reality he lost many matches, but just via DQ. As said, he had an awesome look and as lucha was started to get on TV at that time, that influence can also be credited as one of the causes of Gladiador's success.

The team became popular really soon as Plata was a good flyer and so was Platino, but it was Oro's reckless aerial attack what always stole the show. His move set, spiced up with moonsault variations from any position and all kinds of planchas and topes, may not be so special nowadays, but back then it was state-of-the-art high flying. With that said, Oro wasn't your generic 90's spot-machine that blew half of the moves he tried, he had really sharp and smooth execution, knew how to build to his big moves to make them look special and he also knew how to work the mat. Those that have never seen him can get a rough idea of Oro's style comparing him to a larger Rey Misterio Jr.

Articles Worth Reading

There's a wide array of articles besides profiles; check out the Lucha Dictionary for a quick definition of terms, Lucha Television Information to find out where lucha shows air in your part of the world, and our Matches category for summaries of matches.

How do I Help?

If you'd like to edit pages or create some new ones, we've just added some basic instructions. Click on Help at any time to learn how to make a new page, how to link to a page, how to use the profile template, and more. (And if you're an expert user, feel free to add to that help page with your own hints.) We've also got a Sandbox, where anyone can test or practice things without consquence.

A list of bios we're particularly hopefull of adding is on the To do page, but make sure you read the Rules page before you do any editing!

Coming Soon

More articles! More bios! Things I'm not even thinking about right now! A Task List is now up for you to openly mock as nothing gets accomplished.

Anyone who signs up for an account is free to comment, add, and edit. People who come to destroy will be swiftly removed. Please check out our Rules page for more information

Feedback

  1. For page specific feedback, use the discussion tab on those pages
  2. For general feedback and request for new features, please use the Suggestion Page or the Errors Found.
  3. For help with wiki syntax and other fun editing things, you can try the Wiki Confusion page, although if I haven't already done it myself at this point, I'm probably going to just be checking the [Wiki Handbook] and trying to figure out, so you may just skip me.

If you're completely confused, the admins can be contacted @ luchawiki at thecubsfan dot com - well, I can. I should work on that. (It's ON THE LIST.)

Editors: the Sandbox and Old Main Page are still around.
