The IWL International Junior Heavyweight Championship is a secondary title of professional wrestling to independent midcard wrestlers. This title is managed by International Wrestling League.
Current Champion
Daga is the current champion. He win a 12-Man Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match on September 25, 2010 in Deportivo Tlalli.
History of Championship
Independent Wrestling League (IWL) announced that be held first ever a 12-Man Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match to get the first ever IWL Internet Champion, in which participate Aeroboy, Black Fire, Daga, Eterno, Fantasma de la Opera, Freelance, Lobo Metalico, Low Rider, Naruto, Suicida, Tormento and Violento Jack. The day of the event, Daga become the first and the new IWL Internet Champion.
In March 6, 2011, IWL revealed the poster of the event of March 20 and days after says through of the official facebook's page of the promotion that his titles should change of hands every 6 months, so the Internet title is declared vacant, when Daga, the then champion completed his 6 months of champion, after win the title in September of 2010. After some days, IWL announced the title was not stripped from Daga, but would hold a tournament to determine the #1 contender for the championship.
In July 31, 2011 during the event IWL Extreme Reinforcements, was renamed as IWL International Junior Heavyweight Championship and was revealed a new design to the title, which includes the new logo and name of the promotion, International Wrestling League. Daga defeated #1 contender Mike Segura to retain the belt.
