Generación 2016

The Generación 2016 is a new generation of wrestlers who came to CMLL to fill new places in the promotion's cards. Most of them are second/third generation wrestlers. Most of the first group of wrestlers who came to the promotion earned a spot in 2016's Gran Alternativa Tournament. A second group of luchadors arrived in May. Fujin and Raijin came to Mexico early the year in a learning excursion from NJPW, but both they are no part of this group.
